Welcome To Our Streatham Dental Practice
An introduction to the Confidental Clinic – your family and cosmetic dentist.
Welcome to our first blog post. These will be a regular feature on our website and will cover many different aspects of dentistry and oral health care in general. We are always happy to write on any subject relating to dental care, so if you have a particular topic you would like us to cover, please let us know.
In this first blog, we will take a look at what our dentists in Streatham can offer you and your family to keep your teeth healthy and looking good.
General dental care
It goes without saying that, first and foremost, it is important to have a healthy mouth. This not only includes your teeth, but your gums too. It is probably not widely known that gum disease is the biggest cause of tooth loss in the UK but it is quite easy to treat if detected in its early stages. For this reason, and for your general dental health, we recommend regular visits to the Confidental Clinic in order that we can detect and treat any problems such as tooth decay or gum disease early on.
Whilst oral healthcare is perhaps the most important aspect of dentistry; increasingly, people are looking to have not only healthy, but attractive looking teeth too. There are a number of procedures available at the Confidental Clinic which can help you to achieve just that. Below, we list just a few of the most popular treatments that we offer.
This is our most popular procedure. It produces fantastic results and is a very affordable way of giving your teeth a boost. We provide customised whitening trays based on impressions of your own teeth. This ensures that the trays fit both comfortable and securely over your teeth, preventing any leakage of the whitening ingredient which can cause burns if it comes into contact with your lips or gums.
Wearing these trays for just a few hours a day for a few weeks, will result in much whiter teeth that you might have thought was no longer possible.
Dental veneers are very fine layers of tooth shaped porcelain which are designed to replace the exterior layer of your visible front teeth. They can be used when the teeth are too heavily stained for a whitening procedure to be fully effective, such as may be the case in a long term heavy smoker for example. They can also be used where the teeth are chipped and cracked, and may even be used to straighten teeth in some instances.
Before having their teeth whitened, some patients opt to have their teeth straightened. This is no longer done using the old styled, and unsightly, metal braces, but using almost invisible clear aligners which fit directly over the teeth. We will discuss these in more detail in a future post.
We hope that this brief introduction has whetted your appetite to find out more about what we can offer patients from the Streatham area and we are happy to discuss your requirements with you.
